Hi,  I’m Dr. Sam Teske. .Thank you so much for visiting our website and your interest in The Eye Doctors of New Tampa.  We officially changed our name and changed ownership in November 2007 from Sterling Vision Center to The Eye Doctors of New Tampa.  Since taking over we have tripled our frame inventory and brought state of the art diagnostic equipment to the practice.  We love helping people see better and educate everyone how to maintain that great eye health and sharp vision.  While we are proud to be a leading retailer of quality eyewear, it's our optical services and great customer care from our staff that is valued by our patients from all areas of Tampa.

New Patients

We ask all new patients to The Eye Doctors of New Tampa please print and fill out our questionnaire sheet prior to coming to our office.  You can access this form buy clicking here

What should I take with me to my eye exam?
It’s important to have some basic information ready at the time of your eye examination including recent knowledge of family eye history. Bring the following items to your eye exam:

      - Bring your filled out Patient questionnaire form
      - All eye glasses and contact lenses you routinely use, including your most used over the counter reading glasses. (You can also bring any previously written glasses or contact lens prescriptions.)
       - A list of any medications you are taking.
        -A list of any nutritional supplements or vitamins you take.
       - A list of questions to ask the doctor.

Bring your medical or vision insurance card if you will be using it for a portion of your fees (The Eye Doctors of New Tampa may of already pre-authorized your visit through your insurance company.)

We do occasionally dilate the pupils to evaluate the back of your eyes and if we do so some patients prefer to have a driver as dilation can last from 4-6 hours and does cause some light sensitivity and near/reading blur. 

The Eye Doctors of New Tampa offers the Optomap® retinal exam as well, in which you may not need dilation drops and have no side effects (see Our Services page).
